JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT BOOK, HEY HEY HEY!

DETOUR GALLERY

“Between these pages is arguably the most important discovery of pre-fame Jean-Michel Basquiat drawings in existence.”

For the last two years, NJ-based Detour Gallery has been compiling recently-discovered work by the late, acclaimed artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat. According to the gallery’s website, these works had been “…hidden in plain sight for forty years by the artist’s close friend, Tyler Watts.”

The 358-page book, titled Hey Hey Hey!, features a historic collection of 48 of Basquiat’s early drawings and sketches along with interpretations of each work and first-hand accounts of Tyler Watts’ experiences with the young Basquiat.
